Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon, has handed in her badge and left the police – Fashion Police that is.
Kelly joined the cast of E!’s Fashion Police in 2010 alongside the late Joan Rivers, George Kotsiopoulos and Giuliana Rancic however it has been reported that Kelly has given up her co-hosting job with the network following Giuliana’s recent racial slur aimed up Zendaya Coleman at the Oscars.
“I feel like she smells like patchouli oil and weed.” stated Rancic regarding 18 year old Zendaya’s hair and outfit at the 87th Academy Awards on February 22,2015.
The statement which caused Zendaya to respond through Instagram, while also posting the link to Twitter, left the Disney beauty dismissing the comments as “Outrageously offensive.” Giuliana did apologise to Zendaya on Twitter and during a broadcast of E! News however this was not before Kelly herself was accused of causing offence which has most likely led to her leaving the show.
“I DID NOT MAKE THE WEED COMENT. I DO NOT CONDONE RACISM.” the 30 year old stated on Twitter before point out that her and Zendaya are friends. The comments which clearly frustrated the singer indicate her reasons for resignating from the show.
With Kelly’s decision made following a week of controversy surrounding the situation, Sharon reached out and showed support for her daughter’s decision on Twitter “I am so pround of you. You can never be bought. You always wear your heart on your sleeve. #ProundToBeYourMum.”
Now Kelly has left the show, Guiliana remains as the only original co-host to have started in 2010.
E!’s Fashion Police made a new comeback this year following the death of its main host Joan Rivers, who was replaced by Kathy Griffin. But not all appears to be lost for E!’s Fashion Police as rumours online are now circulating that Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes or Keeping up with the Kardashian favourite Khloe could be in line to take Kelly’s empty seat.
Who will be the new Fashion Police co-host? We will just have to wait and see!
