If you’re off to Uni and are moving out, it might be convenient to make friends with your new room mates. And we all know that the way to a person’s heart is through food, specifically, Nutella Cheesecake.
First things first, the ingredients. You’ll need 2 packs of original cream cheese, a 400g jar of Nutella (or hazelnut spread), about half a large pack of digestive biscuits (depending on how thin or thick a base you want)and finally crushed roast hazelnuts to top.
To begin with, either wiz the biscuits in a food blender or put them in a sandwich bag and release your moving stress with a rolling pin. Once the biscuits are crushed, add 1 table spoon of Nutella and either pulse or mix. Press the mixture into the bottom of a baking tin or dish. And there you have your base!
Onto the cheesy bit. Fold the rest of the Nutella in with the cream cheese. Once it is all one colour (hopefully chocolaty brown) dollop it onto the biscuit base. Cover the cheesecake with crushed hazelnuts and leave in the fridge for at least 3 hours, preferably over night.
The beauty of this simple recipe is that it can be decorated for all events! For Halloween; add some orange food dye. For Christmas; dust with icing sugar for a snowy effect. Also the ingredients can be substituted for budget brands which could cost as little as £2.96! And, of course, it will impress your new room mates. As long as you do the washing up as well.
