Twelve years ago, Baz Luhrmann created a musical that change everyone’s conception of this genre. When Moulin Rouge was released, it soon met with unconditional lovers and savage criticisms, and both groups helped create the myth that the film is nowadays: a cult movie, with songs and scenes that people all over the world can remember. Ewan McGregor singing “Your Song”, the famous Elephant Love Medley, Nicole Kidman being swinged while accompanied by a Marilyn Monroe song, or her stunning red dress. I could keep on writing 5000 words more about special moments of this film that will stay in the pop culture and film culture memory, but there is an easier way to remember it:

This Valentine’s Day, the Cineworld movie theatres are going to release (only that day), the classic musical, so for those of you who didn’t get to see it in a big screen back in 2001 or (like me) just want to enjoy the songs again in something bigger than a television, this is your chance. Don’t miss it!

The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return”
