It has been reported that Michael ‘Red Baron’ Schumacher finally returned home, on Tuesday, following the skiing accident which left him in a coma.
254 days (9 months) after the freak skiing accident in the Swiss Alps, which left the 45 year old former F1 Champion in a medically induced coma when his head hit a rock, was finally able to return home after being discharged from a hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The seven-time Formula One World Champion is said to be continuing his rehabilitation at home, despite having suffered life threatening injuries on 29th December 2013. Nonetheless, Schumacher’s manager, Sabine Kehm revealed in a statement that the former champions’ recovery will be “a long and difficult road ahead.”
With a successful 19 year career in racing, retiring in 2012, nothing appears to keep this German champion down.
As Schumacher’s management work endlessly to protect him and his family’s privacy during this difficult time, it can only be said that we are all wishing him a steady recovery.
