The Ubisoft platformer was the definition of the word beautiful, putting yourself in the shoes of Aurora, a stolen child who must return home. But along the way she must rescue the moon, sun and stars from the Queen of the Night. The art style is beautiful and elegant, the story was cute and I really enjoyed it.

I have never played a game like this, a game so re-playable I spent hours wanting to see every ending and laugh with the narrator’s commentary throughout the whole story. A game has never defined Indie so well, with a changing story, a philosophical question and laugh out loud moments.

The Game I’d like to win: Mario Kart 8
Nintendo shows you how to make a colourful game brighter with Mario Kart 8, the graphics are updated, the cars are shinier and their is an added death stare from a jealous brother. What stood out to me is Rainbow Road, the level of colour is on another level compared to the Wii release in 2008.

My boyfriend and I still spend hours on this and we completed the campaign long ago, it feeds my need for Marvel as well. I could be whoever I wanted once I unlocked the characters I wanted. It was an open world, giving me an accurate representation of what the Marvel world would look like too. It was a fun multiplayer and deserves it.

The Game I’d like to win: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
The music and SFX in all Assassin’s Creed games are beautiful, suiting every era they set it in. You can feel the atmosphere more and more because of the music and I find myself listening to it as an album often, along with the other soundtracks.

The Last of Us is beautiful and this moment was just wonderful, even though you know what will happen next, the moment is lovely. The thing about this game that was so amazing to me was the little moments that kept your spirits up in the post apocalyptic world, so this was a beautiful gaming moment.

Mobile games have gotten better and better, with a little bit of a price raise, but it’s worth it. With Telltale bringing Wolf Among Us coming to iOS and BioShock as well, the mobile game diversity is getting wider and it’s great.
Platform of the Year
Google Play
iOS App Store
Nintendo 3DS
Playstation 3
Playstation 4
PS Vita
Steam
Xbox 360
Xbox One
Wii U
The Platform I’d like to win: Playstation 3
As I don’t own any of the other platforms and have only really started using Steam in the last few months, I find it unfair to judge any of the others, and I still love the Playstation 3. As long as games come out for this console, I find no need in upgrading. Everyone says games are better on next gen, but if a game is truly good, it would be good on all consoles.

Bohemia Interactive
Frontier
Housemarque
Media Molecule
Nintendo EAD
Respawn Entertainment

Their games are unlike anything you will play, the point and click adventure stories immerse you completely and it leaves you in an emotional rollercoaster you never want to escape. With two games out this year, The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, and another two coming soon, Tales of the Borderlands and Game of Thrones, this studio is only on the rise.

The Person I’d like to win: Aisha Tyler
After her long run of presenting Ubisoft’s E3 conferences, she deserves this. Aisha shows how cool it really is to be a female gamer and is mad about gaming. She is also hilarious and fun to watch every E3 and I hope she returns for 2015.
