It was March 21st 2006 that Jack Dorsey sent out the first tweet. Back then the site was called twttr and no one knew how to use it! It also automatically sent out tweets from new accounts telling the world that the user was “Just setting up my twttr.” How it has changed, six years on the site handles over 300 million tweets a day. To be honest you would expect them to be a little more exciting! However this shows how far Twitter has come. From a semi-private message board of friends to one of the most influential social media sites in the world!
